Since 1921 Ralph Singer Jewelry Company has manufactured Custom Handmade jewelry in over 1000 unique designs. Actually, the company was founded by two immigrants from Italy, Mr. Oreste Agnini and Mr. Ralph Singer and was known as Agnini & Singer of which it became the first company in Chicago IL producing these custom designs. Mr. Agnini was a specialist in design and Mr. Singer was the expert in the manufacture of their designs. What a match!
Back in the inception of their business, they manufactured hair combs, shoe buckles, and many tiaras for the New Orleans Mardi Gras queens as well as a special design which featured the symbol of the 1939 World's Fair. Soon they were making fashion necklaces, bracelets, earrings, pins, barrettes and added Fraternal designs. Fraternal items are supplied across the United States to Lodges, Temples and organizations with pins, medals, earrings, crowns & other items. Fashion Jewelry became very popular in the 1930's, 40's and 50's and their pieces were advertised in Vogue and many other fashion magazines. The company began in 1940 to identify their fashion deigns with the maker's mark ORA Creations which was made world famous by Oreste Agnini and Ralph Singer.
The company was purchased in 1984 by the Stanford Smith family of Kenilworth IL and today after 87 years, the Ralph Singer Jewelry Company has been known for its uniquely styled handmade jewelry pieces and still casting from the original molds first used in 1921 with only the finest of materials.
